Welcome to Aroha Rising — it’s an honour to share sacred space with you.

What does
Aroha Rising mean?

"Aroha means the breath, and aro means everything that you are. You are giving Ha, the energy of all that I am, I give it to you. And the aroha of all that I am mixes with all that you are and together we combine, we join and become one."

— Grandmother Moetu Taiha, descendent of the Ngai Tuhoe and Kahungunu tribes of Aotearoa, New Zealand

It’s an honour to share aroha with you. When we open our hearts to aroha and embody it in our daily lives, we become part of something greater than ourselves. By simply showing up with an open heart, you are contributing to the rising of aroha and helping to dream the New Earth into being. Your presence here matters.

Blessing for Aroha Rising

May the breath of life flow through us,
gentle yet powerful as the tide.

May our hearts turn toward each other
with presence, generosity and compassion.

May the inner flame of aroha rise,
lifting our spirits into the light,
carrying love into all we breathe.

With each new dawn, may our hearts open,
ever more fully to life’s great beauty,
and to the sacred web that holds us all.

Hi I'm Jessica,

Welcome to Aroha Rising — it’s an honour to share sacred space with you.

When I was first introduced to Conscious Connected Breathwork in 2019, I knew instantly I’d found a powerful key. Breathwork became a portal into altered states of consciousness, allowing me to meet the layers of an ancestral wound I had unconsciously been carrying my entire life, a wound imbedded deeply through my body, mind, heart, and soul.

I began to understand how this wound had been unconsciously shaping my relationships, by weaving a thread of unworthiness, people-pleasing, lack of belonging, disassociation, self-doubt, conflict avoidance, suppressed anger & grief, hyper-vigilant, self-abandonment into how I showed up in relation to others.

In Te Reo Māori, the word AROHA is often translated simply as love, but its layers go much deeper and looking at its different parts helps reveal its spiritual and relational meaning.

Little did I know that when I left New Zealand, after living there for two years in 2008 & 2009, a small tattoo I received as a way of expressing the love I felt for this beloved home, “aroha” - would imprint my way of life breathing forward.

I wasn’t always guiding people through deep, transformative breath journeys. For 14 years, I was a full-time school teacher, until one day my path took a complete 180- with the discovery of breath.

Real, conscious, connected breathing, opened a doorway I couldn’t ignore.

Breath by breath, the calling to be of service in this way became clearer and clearer. I was finally connected to my higher self and with each conscious choice to return to the breath, I was also choosing to return to love, to heal trauma, to reclaim sovereignty, to remember my souls purpose in this life and to strengthen my connection to Spirit as my compass toward truth.

The breath has been the most powerful ally in my growth journey, guiding me towards sacred plants & fungi, community healing, expanding my range of sound tools, reiki, grief rituals, shamanic wisdom, creative somatic practices (ecstatic dance, somatic voicework, expressive arts therapy), collaborating with other energy healers, travelling around the island & beyond sharing a wide range of themed offerings, swimming with dolphins in Hawaii, attending the 20th anniversary of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers in New Mexico, becoming a graphic designer/web designer, starting a micro business and so much more! By choosing to breathe in this way, there is infinite inspiration always available to create with!

Just keep breathing.

I look forward to sharing aroha with you soon,

Jessica xo

Guided by Heart: Mentors Who Shaped My Journey

Over the years, I’ve been blessed to be guided by incredible teachers and supported by nurturing communities, each leaving a unique imprint on my journey.

From Blissology Yoga with Eoin Finn to Yoga Outreach with Nicole Marcia and Rainbow Kids Yoga, where I learned to cultivate presence, compassion, and playful curiosity.

Trevor Yellich and Numa Breathwork opened doors to profound states of consciousness, helping me release ancestral wounds and deepen my connection to self. Erin Lee of HeavenLee Messenger guided me through Reiki, teaching the art of energy healing and gentle surrender. Richard Rudd and the Dream Arc team illuminated the pathways of consciousness through Gene Keys, while Grandmother Moetu-Taiha shared Māori shamanic wisdom, rooting me in ancestral connection.

Shauna Janz’s grief rituals showed me how to honor loss and transform it into strength. Each teacher, each practice, has been a compass—helping me grow, expand, and show up fully in heart-centered service.
