What Is Conscious Connected Breathwork?

“Presence is our trusted guide for entry and continuance.” — Michael Brown

Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) is a powerful breathing technique rooted in modern somatic therapy and ancient breathing traditions. It invites profound states of presence, clarity, and healing while supporting vitality and expanded awareness.

This practice connects the inhale and exhale without pause, creating an “infinity breath” that oxygenates the body, relaxes the nervous system, and helps release stored tension or emotion. This style of breathwork works directly with the autonomic nervous system. Continuous breathing increases oxygen flow and gently influences carbon dioxide levels in the blood, which can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, the part responsible for rest, repair, and healing.

When we experience stress, trauma, or long periods of overwhelm, the nervous system can become stuck in survival patterns such as fight, flight, or freeze. These states often reflect in shallow, irregular breathing patterns. Conscious Connected Breathwork gently retrains the body to breathe in a full, rhythmic, continuous flow, signalling safety to the nervous system.

Now more than ever, in this time of great change and uncertainty, learning how to regulate and support the nervous system becomes an essential foundation for both personal wellbeing and collective healing. The breath is here to support us all.

Breath is one of the most powerful and accessible tools we have to restore balance in the body. When we learn how to breathe consciously and with awareness, we begin to signal safety to the nervous system, allowing the body to release stress, settle the mind, and return to a more natural state of harmony. Over time, this simple yet profound practice can help cultivate resilience, clarity, and a deeper connection to ourselves.

Your breath already knows the way. Sometimes we simply need a safe space to remember. It’s an honour to reconnect you with the intelligence of your breath.

Lineage

The roots of Conscious Connected Breathwork weave together influences from ancient traditions like yogic pranayama, Taoist breathing and indigenous healing rituals. Here in the West, the individuals listed below, are considered the most well known for helping to shape and popularize it for others to learn, practice and teach.

Grateful for all these pioneers of breath and to the teachings I received from Trevor Yellich of Numa Breathwork, which lead me to my beloved who offered an experiential deep dive into the world of breath.

My Journey with Breathwork

After many years of practicing yoga, even after completing my 200hr YTT in 2018, I still only caught brief glimpses of what extended pranayama practice could offer. I always felt like I was skimming the surface of the breath’s true potential. In 2019, I joined a two-day Holotropic Workshop and experienced the full spectrum of what the breath can open when we consciously enter an altered state of consciousness.

I left that weekend completely enthralled. Immediately after, I discovered Numa Breathwork and began exploring breath facilitation.
My personal journey began as a way to support ancestral healing and grief, but the breath has given me so much more: deepening my connection to Spirit, reclaiming my voice, remembering my oracular gifts, attuning to intuition, reconnecting to my womb, healing inner child wounds, moving through dark nights of the soul, and ultimately, returning to my true nature... Love.

"Magic and pure light you are Jessica. I have attended many breathwork ceremonies and these have been transformational for me and my healing journey. This beautiful sister provides a safe, wholesome, sacred container where you feel so incredibly accepted, supported, seen and heard. She is integral, real, authentic and full of so much wisdom and Love."
