For years, many of you have asked if I have a cacao I truly trust and recommend and until recently, I hadn’t found a source that felt consistently aligned. That changed last year, and I’m delighted to share that I am now offering Seed of Love Cacao for in-person purchase here in Victoria & beyond.
I currently am taking orders for one-pound cacao bricks, each sourced from different regions of Guatemala and each with its own unique flavour profile and energetic signature.
If you feel called to a particular cacao, let’s connect. Payment can be made via e-transfer, with pickup available on Triangle Mountain, at a breath ceremony, or we can arrange a mutually aligned meetup. $65 + shipping costs.
Once all bricks are spoken for, I will confirm timing for the next order, which will likely be in the new year.
Here are the current options:
· Option 1: Las Marias is our origin story- the Divine “YES” that allowed love to light our way. This farm is the initial heartbeat that expanded our love for cacao. Toasted nuts with light woody notes and clear sparkles of sweetness. Powerful aftertastes. Isabel Region.
· Option 2: Cahabon (OUT OF STOCK) - From the lush folds of Guatemala’s highlands- where fruit trees stretch their branches in praise to the sky- roots run deep with intention and every harvest is guided by community co-creation.
· Option 3: Entre Nubes (Meaning “above clouds”), is just as dreamy as its name reflects. This is a soulful, sacred, and small-scale indigenous-owned land where the soil holds ancient knowing. Mild acidity at the start, fruity, bright citrus, raw nuts, cacao, hints of green grass and moist soil. Alta Verapaz Region.
· Option 4: Mama Amor- Comprised of 13 dedicated women, this collective is reviving an age-old regional tradition of cacao cultivation. Fruity and acidic, semi-bitter, extra nutty, notes of cherry and anise. Suchitepequez Region.
A bit about cacao:
Did you know? In 1953, Botanist Carl Linnaeus gave the Cacao tree its scientific name, Theobroma, which translates to “food of the gods” in Greek. Cacao is the Spanish adaptation of the word “Kakaw” – the Mayan word for the cacao tree.
